The Early Warning and Weather Forecast Center at the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology predicted today, Tuesday, that the weather in coastal areas and nearby regions will be humid and hot to very hot, clear to partly cloudy, with a possibility of fog formation in parts of Al-Mahrah Governorate, and scattered thunderstorms in some western coastal cities adjacent to the Red Sea. Winds will be light to moderate, becoming active during the day, while winds will be strong over the Socotra Archipelago.
The center also forecasted in its daily weather bulletin that the mountainous highlands will experience clear to partly cloudy weather, with a chance of scattered heavy thunderstorms over parts of the highlands and the western and southwestern slopes from Saada in the north to the governorates of Taiz, Lahj, and Al-Dhalea, extending eastward to the governorates of Shabwah, Al-Bayda, and Abyan. Desert and plateau areas will see clear to partly cloudy weather, hot to very hot temperatures, and moderate winds that become active during the day, stirring up sand and dust.
The center warned citizens in areas expecting rainfall to avoid being in flood channels and valleys, and to beware of thunderstorms, strong winds accompanying them, and rockslides.
Regarding the marine forecast, the center expected today that the sea state along the coasts of Shabwah, Abyan, Aden, Bab al-Mandeb, and the western coasts will be light waves; along Hadramout coasts light to moderate waves; along Al-Mahrah coasts moderate waves; and along the Socotra Archipelago moderate to rough waves. The sea state in Yemen’s territorial waters in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea will be light waves, while in the Arabian Sea it will be moderate to rough waves.
The center warned ship captains, fishermen, and sea travelers around the Socotra Archipelago and Yemen’s territorial waters in the Arabian Sea of rough seas and high waves.
