The Argentina national team will face Venezuela at the “Hard Rock” stadium at 3 AM in a friendly match in Miami, USA, before heading to Chicago to play Puerto Rico in another friendly next Monday.
Argentina has already secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup since last March, finishing top of the South American qualifiers with 38 points, followed by Ecuador with 29 points, then Colombia, Uruguay, Brazil, and Paraguay each with 28 points. The six teams qualified directly for the World Cup.
Lionel Scaloni, the head coach of Argentina, refuses to put pressure on Lionel Messi during friendly matches to avoid injuries that could hasten his retirement.
Scaloni is unlikely to insist on playing Messi in these two matches after his busy schedule with Inter Miami, having played 7 games in 21 days.
Argentinian fans hope Messi will preserve himself without risks or injuries until the World Cup participation.
