Hossam Al-Mandouh, the treasurer of Zamalek Club, described the situation inside the club as catastrophic, indicating that the repercussions could lead to the collapse of the White Castle.

Al-Mandouh said in statements to “MBC Egypt”: “The atmosphere at Zamalek is not good at all, the problem with Zamalek has gone beyond the team’s results.”

The treasurer added: “The matter has reached a real collapse of the club. We took over managing Zamalek while it was sick, and now it is at a stage where it is waiting to die.”

He explained: “What is happening now is abnormal. The hope for Zamalek was investment in the club’s assets, including the piece of land that was recently withdrawn from it.”

He continued: “Honestly, I feel we are being punished for something we are not guilty of at all. Since we took responsibility at the end of 2023, we have been working on managing the investment wheel in the October branch to build it.”

In response to a question about the possibility of Zamalek declaring bankruptcy, Al-Mandouh said: “We do not wish to reach this stage.”

He added: “Zamalek’s main pillar is its fans. We are in a disaster, not just a crisis, and there are no long-term solutions. We solve problems day by day. The club’s hope was the land, and that hope was taken from us.”

Hossam Al-Mandouh concluded his statements by saying: “The non-return of Zamalek’s land is a severe danger to the club and its future. The current situation cannot be solved by sponsorship contracts, broadcasting rights, or donations. We have obtained large loans.”
