Engineer Hazem Al-Ashmoni, Governor of Sharqia, praised the sanitation worker Uncle ‘Saeed’ who passed away while performing his duties, describing the scene as honorable for him, his family, and all workers who perform their tasks despite the sadness. He stated in a televised interview on the program “Akher Al-Nahar” aired on Al-Nahar channel on Saturday evening that the time Saeed cleaned the street was when no other people were present, which proves his commitment to his shifts and that he feared God even when no one was watching. The governor considered Saeed’s dedication a practical response to those who claim people do not work, affirming that people are present, working on the ground, and love their country. Saeed belonged to a middle-income family, lived modestly, was satisfied, diligent in his work, and did not complain.
The governor confirmed that the governorate will not abandon the deceased’s family, noting his follow-up since morning and the presence of the neighborhood head with the family to complete all procedures alongside his attendance at the condolence. He emphasized that what will be provided to the family is a rightful entitlement, not a favor.
The governor responded to the appeal of the deceased’s brother and the family’s desire to appoint the eldest son, aged 30 and unemployed, in his father’s place, saying: “It is a very simple request, God willing it will be done, and to make the promise clear, it will not be an appointment but a contract, and all procedures will be completed without delay, and he will be in a better grade than his father.” Hundreds of residents of Kafr Al-Hamam village, affiliated to the Zagazig center in Sharqia Governorate, mourned the body of Saeed Mohamed Abdelhamid, the sanitation worker in the second district of Zagazig, who passed away this morning due to a sudden heart attack while performing his work, at the age of 54.
