Valuable high-tech filming equipment disappeared from Chelsea’s training ground at their headquarters in Cobham, causing a major shock for the London team, which reported the incident to Surrey Police immediately upon discovery. The club has not yet confirmed whether the equipment, valued at 34,600 euros, is truly lost and will clarify once all staff return from holiday. The incident raised significant suspicions, prompting police involvement. Chelsea declined to comment on the timing and circumstances of the disappearance. Previously, several Chelsea players had suffered similar thefts from their homes near the club’s training base within a short period. In December 2022, thieves targeted Raheem Sterling’s home while he was with England at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, stealing luxury watches worth 345,000 euros.
Police later identified Albanian Emiliano Croce as one of the thieves, who was sentenced to over 11 years in prison for his involvement in this raid and 32 other robberies in Southeast England. Sterling was the fourth Chelsea player to have his home burgled, following Reece James and other unnamed players. Thieves stole James’ medal won with Chelsea in the 2021 Champions League and his silver medal earned with England as Euro 2020 runners-up. James criticized the thieves who took his awards, calling them ‘cowardly thieves.’
