Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority, signed a contract today with Everfar Textiles Egypt, specialized in manufacturing textiles, ready-made garments, and accessories, to establish an integrated industrial project within the Qantara West Industrial Zone. The project covers an area of 145,000 square meters with investments reaching 130 million US dollars (approximately 6.3 billion Egyptian pounds). It will provide more than 3,200 direct jobs and allocate 100% of its production for export. The project aims to produce over 7.5 million tons of processed fabrics annually, more than 20 million meters of garment fabrics, 3.6 million ready-made garments, and large quantities of garment accessories using the latest production lines and modern technology. The contract was signed by Lou Jiao Sheng, the company’s authorized representative, in the presence of several authority leaders.
Walid Gamal El-Din emphasized that this project is one of the largest industrial projects in the spinning and weaving sector signed in the economic zone, enhancing Qantara West’s position as an attractive industrial platform for investors in this vital sector. The project integrates all production stages from spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing to garment and accessory manufacturing, embodying the industrial integration concept sought by the authority. The project’s full export orientation reflects the confidence international investors have in the Suez Canal Economic Zone and aligns with the authority’s strategy to increase exports and enhance local added value. With this project, total contracted investments in Qantara West Industrial Zone rise to about 989.3 million US dollars across 35 projects, providing around 51,205 direct jobs over an area of 2,325,400 square meters, supporting the authority’s strategy for industrial integration and economic development.
Everfar represents the investment and commercial arm of a leading Chinese industrial group in textiles and garments, offering integrated supply including all production stages from spinning to garment manufacturing, with advanced technology centers and world-class production lines distributing products globally.
