The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at the Al-Batha border crossing successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle 8.6 kilograms of methamphetamine “Shabu” hidden inside a truck entering the Kingdom through the crossing.

ZATCA spokesperson Hamoud Al-Harbi explained that during customs procedures and security inspections of a truck, the quantity of methamphetamine “Shabu” was discovered concealed within the truck’s floor.

Al-Harbi added that after completing the seizure, coordination was made with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, resulting in the arrest of four individuals inside the Kingdom who were to receive the seized drugs.

Al-Harbi urged everyone to contribute to combating smuggling to protect society and the national economy by contacting ZATCA through the dedicated security reports number (1910), email (@zatca.gov.sa1910), or the international number (009661910). The authority receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Unified Customs Law confidentially and rewards informants if the information is verified.
