Al Ahly secured an important 2-1 victory over Zamalek in the match held this Monday evening at Cairo Stadium as part of the ninth round of the Egyptian Premier League. Substitute Hussein El Shahat played a major role in Al Ahly’s win by scoring a goal and causing a penalty from which Trezeguet scored the second goal.
Zamalek took the lead through Hossam Abdel Meguid in the 32nd minute via a penalty kick, while Al Ahly’s goals came from Hussein El Shahat in the 71st minute and Trezeguet in the 78th minute from a penalty.
With this result, Al Ahly raised their points to 12, climbing to third place, while Zamalek remained at 17 points, staying in first place in the league.
The Al Ahly lineup included: Mohamed El Shenawy, Yasser Ibrahim, Yassin Marei, Ahmed Nabil Kouka, Mohamed Hany, Marwan Attia, Mohamed Ali Ben Ramadan, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, Taher Mohamed Taher, Ashraf Ben Sherif, and Mohamed Sherif.
Zamalek’s lineup included: Mohamed Sobhi, Mahmoud Bentayeg, Hossam Abdel Meguid, Mohamed Ismail, Omar Gaber, Nabil Emad Donga, Abdullah Al-Saeed, Nasser Maher, Adam Kaid, Oday Al-Dabbagh, and Juan Beceira.
