Yannick Ferreira, the head coach of Zamalek, continues to rely on Ahmed Rabie’s services in the starting lineup, especially after the player’s impressive performance in his first appearance in the match against Ghazl El Mahalla in the tenth round of the league, which ended in a 1-1 draw, with Rabie scoring the goal.
Zamalek lost their lead in the Egyptian Premier League standings following their recent draw against Ghazl El Mahalla, preceded by a loss to Al Ahly in the Egyptian football classic, and before that a careless draw against El Gouna in the final minutes.
This loss of points and the loss of the top spot caused widespread fan anger towards Ferreira, with a large segment of fans demanding his dismissal.
Ferreira settled the controversy by officially announcing his continued role as head coach of Zamalek.
He posted a picture of himself leading Zamalek’s training on his Instagram account, saying: “Back to work.. No matter how big the obstacles, we will stay together and achieve our goals,” clearly indicating his commitment to stay with the White team.
