Spanish club Atletico Madrid will host German side Eintracht Frankfurt at 10 PM on Tuesday at the Riyadh Air Stadium, in the second group stage match of the 2025-2026 UEFA Champions League season.

Led by Diego Simeone, Atletico aims to leverage home advantage and fans to secure their first 3 points in the group stage and improve their standing, currently 23rd after the first round.

Atletico lost 3-2 to Liverpool in an exciting first-round match at Anfield. Despite their history of reaching two finals, Atletico has yet to win the Champions League title.

The team enters the match with high morale after a big 5-2 win over rivals Real Madrid in the seventh round of La Liga, climbing to fifth place and recovering from a difficult start domestically and continentally.

Conversely, Eintracht Frankfurt comes into the game on a high, leading the Champions League group stage after a 5-1 victory over Turkey’s Galatasaray in the opening round, ahead by one goal over defending champions Paris Saint-Germain, who defeated Atalanta 4-0.

The two teams have met twice before in 1975: Eintracht won 1-0 in November, while Atletico won 2-1 in October in the European Cup Winners’ Cup.

The match will be officiated by a Slovenian refereeing team led by Slavko Vinčić, assisted by compatriots Tomaž Klancnik and Andraž Kovačič, with Matej Jug as the fourth official. Video Assistant Referees (VAR) will be overseen by Allen Borucki and Dutchman Pol van Boekel.
