The global mobile applications market has surpassed $935 billion, with the tech services market growing 9.2% to reach $73.5 billion, and mobile app revenues totaling $344 billion.
Omnis Technologies announced the launch of the first edition of the “Smartphone App Developers Week,” which uniquely combines “Droidcon” and “Swift Heroes,” the world’s largest gatherings of Android and iOS developers, at the Abu Dhabi National Energy Center from December 13 to 15, 2025.
The event is supported by prominent partners, notably the Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau under the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, as the strategic partner for destination and culture. It comes amid expectations of a 145% increase in tech investments in the UAE, reaching $313.5 million this year.
The “Smartphone App Developers Week” includes four specialized platforms: the “Government AI Summit” (GovAI), “NextPlay,” “Droidcon,” and “Swift Heroes,” all aiming to address key challenges and explore opportunities in mobile app development.
The UAE’s IT services market is experiencing a compound annual growth rate exceeding 9.2%, expected to reach $73.5 billion by 2030. Globally, the mobile apps sector contributed around $6.5 trillion in economic value in 2024, projected to rise to $11 trillion by 2030.
More than 60 speakers from regional and global tech companies will participate in the three-day event, leveraging the massive growth in mobile app usage, with 94.2% of internet users engaging with apps. The number of mobile users worldwide is expected to reach 7.49 billion by 2025.
Fahad Al Dheeb, founder of Omnis Technologies, said: “The Smartphone App Developers Week ignites the next wave of digital innovation. Today, although 98% of mobile app revenues, totaling $344 billion, come from ads and in-app purchases in free apps, we are opening unprecedented horizons for innovation across platforms and enhancing revenue opportunities.”
