Abu Taher, a 43-year-old Bangladeshi man, has suffered from stomach problems for several years and received some treatments to control gastritis. Recently, he experienced severe lower abdominal pain, and tests revealed he has acute colitis along with an esophageal deviation.

The patient urgently needs surgery to clean the colon, remove polyps from the stomach wall, and correct the esophageal pathway.

The cost of this treatment at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital in Abu Dhabi is 42,000 AED. However, his difficult financial and health conditions prevent him from affording the treatment. He is awaiting assistance from charitable organizations and donors, hoping for help to cover the treatment cost before it’s too late.

Medical reports obtained by “Emarat Al Youm” indicate that the patient was admitted to the hospital several times in the last two months due to severe abdominal pain, before finally entering the emergency department suffering from nausea, bloating, and diarrhea.

The reports confirmed that he needs urgent surgery to clean the colon, remove polyps from the stomach wall, and correct the esophageal pathway.

The cost of such medical procedures is 42,000 AED, but the patient’s financial situation is very poor, and he does not have health insurance.

Abu Taher told “Emarat Al Youm” that he felt extreme fatigue and chest pain and was unable to eat or drink normally. He went to a private hospital in Abu Dhabi, where after examination, the doctor ordered medical tests.

He added: “When the test results appeared, the doctor told me I had stomach and colon problems and prescribed painkillers and antacids. My condition improved significantly, but the pain returned severely, so I went to the emergency department at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital. The tests and CT scans showed severe colitis, polyps in the stomach wall, and esophageal deviation. The doctor confirmed I urgently need surgery to save my life.”

He added: “The doctor told me the cost of this type of surgery at the hospital is 42,000 AED, but my financial and health situation is very difficult, and I cannot afford any part of the surgery or treatment costs at the hospital.”

The patient explained that he works at a private company with a salary of 1100 AED, paying 500 AED for rent and spending the rest on his family of three.

Abu Taher said the disease is ravaging his body, and he can no longer bear the pain, appealing to kind-hearted people and donors to help him cover his treatment expenses and save his life.
