Stars are shining in the sky of the ‘State of Recitation’ competition, which launched with the participation of more than 14,000 contestants from various Egyptian governorates to select the best voices in reciting the Holy Quran. The competition, held at Amr Ibn Al-As Mosque in Cairo, witnessed outstanding performances by the youth of Qalyubia governorate. Contestant Mohamed Anwar Ghanem amazed the judging panel with his melodious and sweet voice. Sheikh Ahmed Abdel Wahid, student Ahmed Mohamed, and Youssef El-Sayed Mujahid also excelled in Tajweed. Mohamed Anwar Ghanem revealed that he participated in the Tajweed section and was praised for his vocal performance. He learned and completed the Quran under the supervision of his father, Sheikh Anwar Ghanem, at the Qalyubia Endowments. Contestant Ahmed Mohamed Ismail expressed admiration for the excellent organization and the melodious voices presented.

Yasser Helmy Ghayati, Deputy Minister of Endowments in Qalyubia, stated that the Ministry of Endowments offers the best through the ‘Grand State of Recitation’ competition, describing it as a Quranic festival where the people of the Quran compete not only for worldly prizes but for the honor of selection and spiritual elevation. The competition stages are supervised by specialized scientific committees to select the best talents across the country based on performance quality, mastery of rules, voice beauty, and recitation accuracy. The prizes include one million Egyptian pounds for the best talent in Tajweed and one million for the best in Tartil, with additional prizes for second and third places. The competition’s qualifiers will continue for over two months due to high participation.
