Algerian international player Ryan Ait Nouri will miss the two World Cup 2026 qualifying matches against Botswana and Guinea Conakry.

In response, national coach Vladimir Petković has called up left-back Noufel Khasif.

The Algerian Football Federation announced on Monday afternoon that Ait Nouri is suffering from an injury, without providing further details.

On Sunday afternoon, left-back Ait Nouri played the full match for his team Manchester City against Brighton in the third round of the English Premier League.

Regarding Noufel Khasif (27 years old), a player for CR Belouizdad, he has played 3 international matches with the Algerian national team between March 2021 and September 2024, all as a substitute.

In recent days, Khasif participated with the local national team in the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN). He played 4 out of 5 matches, starting in 3, and earned the man of the match award against Niger.
