Dr. Reda Farhat, Vice President of the Conference Party, stated that the denial of visas to the Palestinian delegation to enter the United States to participate in the upcoming United Nations General Assembly meetings scheduled for September in New York represents a scandalous disgrace and a moral and political failure of the U.S. administration, which reveals day by day its blind bias towards the Israeli occupation and its complete abandonment of any claims to defend democracy or respect international law.
Farhat explained in a statement today that the United States, by this act, not only violates the Palestinian people’s right to voice their cause to the world but also undermines the credibility of the United Nations itself, which is supposed to be the house of international justice. If the primary stakeholders in the world’s most significant cause are deprived of presenting their case on the international platform, what value does this organization hold and what is the purpose of convening its General Assembly?
He pointed out that this American behavior clearly exposes Washington’s double standards: it allows the Israeli occupation to dominate international platforms to distort facts, while it closes doors to the legitimate landowners who seek only to expose the occupation’s crimes before the international community. He also indicated that what happened reveals the true American policy that boasts of freedom and human rights while practicing the harshest forms of political repression against a people facing systematic extermination.
The Conference Party Vice President confirmed that Washington’s act is not an ordinary political decision but a new aggression against the Palestinian people, continuing a series of Israeli crimes but wearing the guise of “fake international law.” This aggression aims to silence the Palestinian narrative and break the will of a people who have struggled for decades for their freedom and their right to an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. It also reveals a dangerous trend aimed at weakening the Palestinian National Authority and President Mahmoud Abbas, at a time when the Palestinian people need international support to confront ongoing Israeli crimes and violations.
Farhat called for a strong Arab and international stance to confront this American act, not merely condemnation or formal statements, stressing that continued overlooking of these practices encourages the United States and the Israeli occupation to further violate international laws and the rights of peoples. He emphasized that if Washington succeeds in preventing the Palestinian delegation from entering its territory, it will not be able to prevent the voice of Palestine from reaching the conscience of the free world. Rather, this decision exposes it before the peoples of the earth as a power that practices discrimination and repression and tramples on UN laws in service of the interests of the Israeli occupation. History will not forgive these shameful positions, and peoples will not forget that the world’s largest country prevented the voice of a defenseless people from demanding their rights.
