Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz officially announced the assassination of the spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Ubaida, in a post on the “X” platform.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented on the assassination attempt, saying: “The army attacked Abu Ubaida and we are awaiting the results. Hamas’s statement is delayed, possibly because there is no one to clarify the matter.”

The Israeli army stated that the operation was carried out using precision munitions, based on intelligence information received by the Shin Bet and Aman, and was executed from a special operations room. Palestinian sources reported that Abu Ubaida’s wife and children were inside the house at the time of the strike, and Al-Qassam members rushed to cordon off the area and prevent access.
