The German University in Cairo (GUC) and the German International University (GIU) held a ceremony to honor the top high school graduates from all 27 Egyptian governorates and their families by awarding them 69 full scholarships for the academic year 2025-2026. The event was attended by Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Acting Minister of Environment, along with several governors and university officials. Dr. Awad praised the universities’ national role in supporting outstanding youth across Egypt and emphasized the state’s commitment under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to prioritize education and scientific research as foundations for sustainable development and building the new republic. She highlighted that these scholarships offer students a great opportunity to expand their knowledge and engage in an advanced academic environment that fosters creativity and innovation to serve society.
University leaders expressed gratitude for the support and reiterated their dedication to contributing to Egypt’s development through education. Several students who previously received scholarships encouraged the new recipients to continue striving for excellence in their university journey.
