Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Acting Minister of Environment, attended the ceremony at the German University in Cairo (GUC) and the German International University (GIU) to honor the top high school graduates from all 27 Egyptian governorates and their families. The event included the awarding of 69 full scholarships for the academic year 2025-2026 to study at the faculties of both universities. The ceremony was attended by several governors, university presidents, faculty members, parents, and education media leaders. Dr. Awad expressed her happiness to celebrate the promising youth from all governorates, emphasizing the importance of education and scientific research as priorities for sustainable development and building the new republic. She highlighted that excellence is not limited to any specific location but is the result of determination and hard work.

The scholarships offer students a great opportunity to expand their knowledge in an advanced academic environment that fosters creativity and innovation. Dr. Awad thanked the German University in Cairo for its national initiatives and support for outstanding students from various governorates. She encouraged the students to make their educational journey a path to leadership and excellence, noting that Egypt places great hope in them. The cooperation between the Ministry and the German University continues in various fields, including visual identity projects and community contributions. The university’s founding president, Dr. Ashraf Mansour, also thanked the minister and emphasized the university’s commitment to development across Egypt through its students. Other university leaders and scholarship recipients spoke, urging new students to continue their path of excellence.
