Turkey has strongly condemned the Israeli attacks that undermine security and stability in Syria and the region. Turkey emphasized the importance of supporting the Syrian government in its efforts to achieve peace and welfare in the country. Turkey’s vision is of a Syria free from terrorism, where the Syrian people enjoy security and maintain the unity of their lands. In August, the Quneitra province in southwestern Syria witnessed four incursions by the Israeli occupation army, the latest of which occurred at dawn on Tuesday, resulting in the martyrdom of a Syrian citizen due to Israeli shelling on his home. Although the new Syrian administration formed since late December 2024 poses no threat to Tel Aviv, the Israeli occupation army continued to penetrate Syrian territory, causing civilian casualties and destroying military sites.

For seven months, the Israeli occupation army has occupied Mount Hermon and a 15-kilometer-wide security strip in some southern Syrian areas. The Israeli occupation is exploiting the events in Syria since the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in 2024 to expand its occupation. Through its stance, Turkey expresses its support for Syrian sovereignty and stresses the importance of preserving the unity of Syrian lands amid the significant challenges facing the country.
