Riyadh, the Saudi capital, hosted one of the most prominent global events this summer: the Esports World Cup, featuring participation from over one hundred countries and about two thousand players. Attendees described the event as a “unique experience and a smart move by the Kingdom” to solidify its position in this growing sector.
Held at Boulevard Riyadh, the event attracted wide attention and provided audiences of all ages the opportunity to follow competitions in a safe, interactive atmosphere. Participants confirmed that the tournament represented a qualitative leap in organizing entertainment and sports events in the Kingdom.
stc played a pivotal role as the main digital partner of the championship, deploying its latest technologies and high-quality services to support players and participants. Several attendees noted that the “ultra-fast internet speed” and the use of artificial intelligence technologies enhanced their experience on-site. One participant said, “I can easily find my friends thanks to the internet quality, which made the experience smoother.”
As a result of these efforts, stc won the Platinum Operator Award for esports after receiving the highest rating among telecommunications providers in the Kingdom, according to the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission.
The audience expressed great enthusiasm for the participating teams and prominent stars, with Team Falcon topping the list of most supported teams, alongside wide interaction with players like Abu Omar and Musaed Al-Dosari.
With this achievement, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia confirmed its commitment to enhancing its global presence in the field of esports, within its vision to develop the digital entertainment sector and support the creative economy.
