Dr. Ahmed Abu Al-Atta, Deputy Minister of Health in Luxor, led an inspection tour to follow up on the medical convoy activities held at the Al-Nugou Youth Center in Esna, accompanied by Dr. Zakaria Haddad, Director of Esna Health Administration. This visit was part of directives from Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, and Engineer Abdel Muttalib Amara, Governor of Luxor, to intensify field visits to medical facilities and monitor the provision of various health services to citizens.
The Deputy Minister confirmed the presence of medical and nursing teams in every clinic, the readiness of devices, and the availability of the pharmacy with adequate quantities of medicines distributed free of charge, with regular case registration. The Luxor Health Directorate has developed a comprehensive plan to provide a weekly medical convoy that tours all villages in the governorate to offer integrated healthcare to the citizens visiting it.
He also inspected the Al-Nugou Qibli Unit to ensure the quality of medical services provided to citizens, checking various departments for the availability of medical supplies and adherence to infection control policies, emphasizing the necessity of complying with quality standards and providing proper healthcare. The convoy includes all medical specialties such as obstetrics and gynecology, family planning, pediatrics, dermatology, internal medicine, surgery, orthopedics, in addition to radiology and laboratory services, and random screening for diabetes and hypertension.
Furthermore, Dr. Ahmed Abu Al-Atta followed up on the drug administration campaign against schistosomiasis in positive foci (infected individuals and their contacts) in the village of Al-Mahameed Qibli, targeting 2,600 individuals. This campaign is part of the state’s efforts to maintain citizens’ health, eliminate endemic diseases, and ensure treatment reaches all targeted priority areas, in line with the Ministry of Health and Population’s directives to combat and prevent parasitic diseases.
