The Supreme Medical Committee and Emergency Response, chaired by Dr. Hossam El-Masry, the Medical Advisor to the Prime Minister and Assistant Secretary-General for Medical Affairs, promptly responded to the emergency call of Fathia Sh., a 34-year-old woman from Menoufia Governorate suffering from hematemesis and severe anemia due to liver cirrhosis. She urgently required an endoscopy and a blood transfusion from her rare blood type.
The rapid intervention team immediately contacted her to collect all necessary medical data and reports. After presenting the case to the Supreme Medical Committee and Emergency Response, it was recommended to transfer her to the Liver Institute. Mr. Ahmed Baraka, a member of the rapid intervention team, coordinated directly with Professor Osama Hegazy, Director of the National Institute, who promptly admitted her.
Coordination was also made with Dr. Somaya Hamdy and Ms. Mai Adel at the regional blood bank in Menoufia to provide the required packed red blood cells and plasma. The endoscopy was successfully performed, and her medical condition was closely monitored until she stabilized and was discharged with her family.
The Supreme Medical Committee and Emergency Response confirm their ongoing commitment to closely monitor medical cases and emergency calls around the clock, following the directives of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and the government’s dedication to providing necessary medical support to citizens across all governorates.
