The Lebanese Forces’ media office issued a statement responding to Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Sheikh Naeem Qassem’s political discourse, which fundamentally contradicts the Lebanese constitution and national sovereignty concepts. The statement emphasized that Hezbollah has violated Lebanese sovereignty by seizing the state’s strategic decisions and preventing the establishment of a real state, dragging Lebanon into wars based on its and Iran’s interests. It highlighted that government decisions on August 5 and 7 paved the way for restoring sovereignty. The Lebanese Forces refuted Qassem’s claim that without the resistance Israel would have reached Beirut, stating that without Hezbollah, Israel would not have entered Lebanon in July 2006 or afterward. The statement also criticized Hezbollah’s influence on the Lebanese army and rejected Qassem’s challenge regarding disarmament, affirming the government’s decision to remove illegal weapons as a step toward Lebanon’s interest and stability.

It condemned Iranian interference and stressed that Lebanon’s sovereignty is a red line that Iran must not cross.
