The Egyptian Red Crescent continues to supply food and relief aid to the Gaza Strip, launching early this morning the 23rd ‘Zad Al-Izza… From Egypt to Gaza’ convoy. It carries about 200 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid heading to the southern Gaza Strip via the Kerem Abu Salem crossing. This is part of ongoing efforts as a national mechanism to coordinate aid to Gaza. The 23rd convoy includes over 3,700 tons of essential aid, comprising nearly 3,500 tons of food baskets and flour, and more than 200 tons of necessary relief supplies needed by the sector. This comes within Egypt’s efforts to provide food and relief support to Gaza residents. The ‘Zad Al-Izza’ convoy, launched by the Egyptian Red Crescent on July 27, has carried thousands of tons of aid including food supply chains, flour, baby milk, medical supplies, medicines, personal care items, and tons of fuel.
The Egyptian Red Crescent has been present at the border since the crisis began, keeping the Rafah crossing open from the Egyptian side without full closure, maintaining readiness at all logistical centers, and continuing efforts to deliver aid which has exceeded half a million tons, supported by 35,000 volunteers.
