China successfully launched a new batch of low Earth orbit satellites from the Hainan commercial space launch site in southern China early Tuesday morning local time. According to the Chinese news agency Xinhua, this tenth batch of satellites, which will form an internet constellation, was launched at 3:08 AM Beijing time aboard a Long March-8A carrier rocket and successfully entered their designated orbits. Meanwhile, Rocket Lab launched five satellites for a secret client this evening in its 70th Electron rocket mission from its New Zealand site. This mission, called “Nest, Laugh, Launch” by Rocket Lab, sent the five satellites into a circular orbit 413 miles (665 kilometers) above Earth. Details remain classified as it is the second of two contracted missions for the secret client.
