Dr. Al-Saeed Ghoneim, First Deputy Chairman of the Congress Party, strongly condemned the British authorities’ arrest of the Egyptian national Ahmed Abdel Qader, known as “Mido,” describing the move as a blatant violation of legitimate rights and an unacceptable bias towards the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood agenda. Ghoneim affirmed that “Mido” committed no offense justifying this action, explaining that all he did was express his patriotism and reject attempts by Muslim Brotherhood elements to assault Egyptian state premises abroad. He pointed out that Mido represents a model of loyal Egyptian youth defending their homeland. He added that the incident clearly reveals the British authorities’ bias towards a group rejected by the Egyptian people, whose destructive project was dismantled. He stressed that the Egyptian state, with all its institutions and national forces, rejects this unjust act and supports its patriotic sons abroad.
At the end of his statements, the First Deputy Chairman of the Congress Party called on the British authorities to release “Mido” quickly and stop any restrictive practices against the patriotic Egyptian community, affirming Egypt’s rejection of Britain becoming a refuge or tool for the terrorist group targeting its stability and national security.
