Engineer Hazem El-Gendy, member of the Senate and assistant head of the Wafd Party, affirmed that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s reception of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, at Alamein Airport reflects the deep brotherly relations between the Egyptian and Emirati peoples. He emphasized that this visit continues a long history of cooperation and solidarity between the two countries, rooted in the legacy of the late founder Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who established an exceptional relationship with Egypt and its people.
El-Gendy pointed out that Egyptian-Emirati relations represent a unique model in the Arab world, united by bonds of brotherhood and shared destiny, along with a unified vision on regional and international issues. The warmth and strength seen today in these relations stem from the leaderships’ commitment to continuously develop cooperation across political, economic, security, and military fields.
He explained that Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s visit at this time underscores Egypt’s strategic position in the region and reflects mutual trust between the two leaderships in facing current challenges, especially regarding the Palestinian issue and the situations in Libya, Yemen, and Syria. There is near-complete alignment in positions between Cairo and Abu Dhabi on these matters, enhancing prospects for peaceful solutions that preserve the unity and sovereignty of Arab states.
El-Gendy also highlighted the unprecedented economic boom in relations, with the UAE becoming one of the largest investors in the Egyptian market, expanding investments in energy, real estate, infrastructure, and technology sectors. This directly contributes to advancing development and creating new job opportunities for Egyptian youth. He clarified that the relationship between Egypt and the UAE is not merely a political or economic partnership but a solid brotherhood based on mutual respect and shared history.
Engineer Hazem El-Gendy stressed that this visit sends a clear message to the world that the two countries are steadily advancing towards enhancing Arab joint action and confronting attempts to destabilize the region. It also confirms the strength and depth of relations, which will result in further coordination and cooperation on various files serving the interests of both peoples and the Arab nation as a whole.
