Major General Hesham Abu Al-Nasr, Governor of Assiut, emphasized the vital role played by farmers in supporting the national economy and achieving food security. He highlighted that the state, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, pays great attention to the agricultural sector and works to empower farmers and remove obstacles in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt Vision 2030. The Agriculture Directorate in Assiut organized a field tour for Dr. Abdel Rahim Ahmed, Deputy Minister of Agriculture in the governorate, who inspected several crops in the Al-Ghanayem center, met with farmers, and listened to their main problems. The visit included participation from local authorities and agricultural officials.

The meeting discussed challenges faced by farmers, primarily the provision of fertilizers and winter seeds for the 2025/2026 season, under the Ministry of Agriculture’s plan led by Minister Alaa Farouk to support farmers by studying their needs and opening direct communication channels to find practical and effective solutions. The governor directed the fair distribution of fertilizers through cooperative associations across villages and centers, coordination to provide agricultural production requirements, and intensifying advisory seminars to transfer technical recommendations to farmers to improve crop quality and increase productivity.
