Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, held a bilateral meeting on Monday with Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, Kuwait’s Foreign Minister, on the sidelines of the extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah. The two ministers praised the remarkable momentum in Egyptian-Kuwaiti relations, emphasizing the brotherly and strategic ties between the two countries. They commended the results of the recent visit by the Egyptian President to Kuwait in April 2025, which marked an important milestone in enhancing joint cooperation. They stressed the importance of building on this momentum to achieve further rapprochement in various fields of cooperation, especially economic and investment sectors, reflecting the aspirations and serving the interests of the two brotherly peoples.

Regarding developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, the ministers renewed their full rejection of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and condemned policies of starvation and killing of civilians. Minister Abdel Aati reviewed Egypt’s efforts, coordinated with Qatar, to reach a ceasefire, ensure unrestricted humanitarian aid access, and work towards the release of hostages and prisoners. He reiterated Egypt’s firm rejection of any attempts to re-occupy Gaza or impose demographic changes. The ministers also discussed Egypt hosting the international conference for early recovery and reconstruction of Gaza, aiming to mobilize the necessary financial support for the Arab plan, ensure the Palestinian people remain on their land, and affirm their legitimate right to establish an independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The two sides also touched upon several priority regional issues, in light of the complex challenges facing the region, requiring enhanced joint Arab coordination. They emphasized the importance of supporting political and diplomatic solutions that restore security and stability to the peoples of the region.
