The Ministry of Energy and Water sent a letter to the Public Prosecution on 25/8/2025 requesting that the circulated news about the HAWK III ship loaded with fuel oil be considered a report and that all appropriate legal measures be taken. The ministry denied allegations of forged official documents and manipulation of the origin related to the ship serving the Lebanese Electricity Authority. Previously, on 23/6/2025, based on judicial consultations, the ministry had instructed all companies with contracts to import ships to provide documents issued by the inspection company at the loading port proving that loading occurred in its presence, along with conformity results from global companies verifying the shipments at the loading port.

Lawyer Fawzi Meshleb had published on the X platform that the forgery of Turkish loading certificates was confirmed, highlighting a price difference in fuel oil depending on origin, accusing officials of negligence despite prior warnings and legal reports filed by the ministry based on his information.
