Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and on his behalf, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Emir of the Mecca Region, inaugurated the conference “Universities’ Responsibility in Promoting Values and Intellectual Awareness,” organized by Umm Al-Qura University. The conference runs for three days from August 25 to 27 at the university campus in Al-Abdiyah, attended by the Minister of Education and other officials. During the opening, two platforms were launched: “Mustasharak,” offering free remote consultations in educational, social, developmental, and psychological fields confidentially by expert faculty members; and “Wa’i,” a platform to receive reports related to intellectual violations, extremist behaviors, or negative phenomena.

The conference aims to highlight Saudi Arabia’s role in promoting human values and intellectual awareness, exchange expertise, organize joint initiatives among Saudi universities and related sectors, and address contemporary challenges facing values and intellectual awareness. It also seeks to outline a forward-looking vision for Saudi universities’ responsibility in this regard within the framework of Saudi Vision 2030. The conference includes five scientific sessions, workshops, and discussions with 24 speakers from academics, experts, and thinkers covering five main themes related to universities’ efforts in enhancing values and intellectual awareness.
