The Ministry of Culture, represented by the General Authority for Cultural Palaces, is preparing to reopen the Hurghada Cultural Palace Theater after several years of closure. This follows comprehensive development works that included infrastructure and technical equipment upgrades. This step is part of the ministry’s strategy to integrate cultural and artistic activities within the tourism system in Hurghada, one of Egypt’s most important tourist destinations. The project aims to make the theater a new attraction for tourists and a cultural and artistic outlet for the city’s residents. An official opening ceremony with musical, singing, and performance shows is scheduled this month, with the theater set to host a diverse artistic program throughout the year.

The renovation increased the theater’s capacity to about 850 seats equipped with the latest comfort means, alongside a full update of the sound, lighting, and decor systems to meet modern standards for theatrical and major concert performances. Spaces were also allocated for children’s shows and cultural and folk activities to serve different age groups and enhance community participation. The ministry plans to offer a fixed weekly program including musical, theatrical, and folk arts shows aimed at both foreign tourists and Egyptians, in cooperation with hotels and resorts in Hurghada. These events will be part of the entertainment programs offered to guests, aiming to diversify the tourism product, support arts and culture-related industries, and create new job opportunities in this vital sector.
