Minister of Labor Mohamed Gabrán met with the Governor of Qalyubia to discuss activating cooperation in vocational training, employment, and workers’ rights with the implementation of the new Labor Law No. 14 of 2025. The minister emphasized that the law balances the rights of workers and employers and does not allow forcing any institution to start work at 5 AM. The law includes establishing 38 labor courts to resolve cases within three months, guarantees women’s rights, protects informal workers, and regulates working hours. The periodic allowance was reduced from 7% to 3% but calculated on the comprehensive wage, making its value higher than before. The meeting also covered integrating people with disabilities into the labor market and protecting foreign workers’ permits.
