Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met today, Monday, with the foreign ministers of Syria, Pakistan, Algeria, and Gambia to discuss several issues, foremost among them the entry of aid to Gaza and the Israeli escalation against the Palestinian people. According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Saudi Foreign Minister reviewed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them with his counterparts individually on the sidelines of the emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers in Jeddah, western Saudi Arabia. They also discussed regional and international developments, especially the recent events in the Gaza Strip and the efforts being made regarding them. Prince Faisal bin Farhan discussed with his counterparts efforts aimed at supporting the security and stability of the region, primarily the developments in Gaza and their security and political repercussions, in addition to the Israeli escalation against the brotherly Palestinian people.
The Saudi Foreign Minister called for taking all necessary measures to break the siege and ensure the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid and urged support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and other humanitarian agencies. In his speech at the emergency ministerial meeting of the OIC, Prince Faisal renewed the Kingdom’s condemnation of recent Israeli statements by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the so-called ‘Greater Israel Vision.’ He pointed out that the Kingdom completely rejects the settlement and expansionist projects adopted by the Israeli occupation authorities and affirmed the historic right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state. The meeting of foreign ministers of the 57 member states of the OIC began today, Monday, in Jeddah to discuss the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and the Israeli government’s plan to occupy Gaza.
