The National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan, in cooperation with the Service Foundation, has sent a second shipment as part of the latest batch of humanitarian and relief supplies to the people of the Gaza Strip via Egypt, following directives from Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. Today, a special chartered plane from Pakistan landed at Al-Arish International Airport carrying 100 tons of humanitarian and relief supplies. The Pakistani ambassador to Egypt, Amir Shaukat, received the relief shipment, which was handed over to the Egyptian Red Crescent Society for delivery to Palestinians inside Gaza. The Deputy Governor of North Sinai also attended the aid handover. The Pakistani ambassador expressed deep gratitude to the Egyptian government and the Egyptian Red Crescent for facilitating the smooth delivery of aid from the government and people of Pakistan to the Palestinian brothers.
Shaukat reaffirmed that the government and people of Pakistan will continue to provide much-needed humanitarian assistance to Palestinians during this critical time. He pointed out that more humanitarian shipments are on their way and will be delivered in coordination with the Egyptian government in the coming days to Palestinians inside the Gaza Strip. Approximately 21 humanitarian and relief shipments have been sent to Palestinians in Gaza, bringing the total aid delivered to 2,027 tons so far.
