Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, held a meeting to follow up on the efforts of various government bodies to supply the petroleum products needed for the industry and agriculture sectors, as well as other developmental sectors. The meeting was attended by several ministers including the Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport, the Minister of State for Military Production, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Agriculture, the Minister of Public Business Sector, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and other officials.

Madbouly emphasized that the government is advancing the state’s plan to develop targeted sectors, primarily industry and agriculture, to meet the local market’s needs within the framework of industrial localization and providing production requirements locally, aiming to achieve food security. There is continuous oversight by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on industrial localization to enhance production quality and competitiveness, alongside expanding land reclamation efforts.

The government is working to provide all requirements for the industry and agriculture sectors, relying on these sectors along with other strategic sectors to lead development. Efforts are ongoing to ensure the supply of petroleum products to these sectors and to enhance the capacity of industrial and service sectors in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 to ensure energy security as a fundamental pillar of sustainable development.

The official spokesperson for the Prime Minister, Counselor Mohamed El-Homsany, stated that the meeting discussed several measures to enhance the sustainability of petroleum product supplies for developmental sectors.

The meeting also reviewed the Ministry of Petroleum’s efforts to secure the national gas network’s needs recently, either by increasing local extraction or by providing regasification ships, which contributed to securing the gas needs of the electricity sector and factories, thus maintaining production continuity.

Additionally, the meeting reviewed ongoing efforts to develop the gas sector infrastructure by importing floating regasification units, which increased regasification capacity, ensuring flexibility and continuity of gas supplies to all vital sectors including industry, thus sustaining these supplies. Mechanisms to secure other petroleum product needs were also presented to support sector growth and enhance national economic performance during the current period.
