The voting process has started in 11 electoral committees at Egyptian embassies and consulates across 9 countries in North and South America as part of the runoff round for the 2025 Senate elections. These locations include the embassy in Washington and consulate in New York in the USA; embassy in Ottawa and consulate in Montreal in Canada; embassies in Buenos Aires (Argentina), Brasilia (Brazil), Montevideo (Uruguay), Havana (Cuba), Caracas (Venezuela), La Paz (Bolivia), and Santiago (Chile). The voting is taking place in 136 electoral sites across 117 countries under the supervision of diplomatic and consular missions and direct monitoring by the National Elections Authority’s central operations room to ensure smooth procedures and resolve any obstacles voters may face. The runoff round abroad is held over Monday and Tuesday, August 25 and 26, covering constituencies from the governorates of Gharbia, Ismailia, Beni Suef, Luxor, and New Valley.
