The third edition of the DP World Development T20 Cricket Championship kicked off the evening before last at the ICC International Cricket Academy grounds in Dubai. The competition will continue until September 3 and aims to develop and prepare the region’s cricket stars for upcoming international commitments, including the Asia Cup and the upcoming DP World tournaments. The championship features six teams: Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Desert Vipers, Dubai Capitals, Gulf Giants, MI Emirates, and Sharjah Warriors. It consists of 18 matches played in a single round-robin format to determine the champion. The first day witnessed great enthusiasm and a strong desire to win, with a notable audience presence from the Asian expatriate community residing in the UAE.
