The Eastern Province Secretary, Engineer Fahd Al-Jubair, held a meeting today with the Acting CEO of the Eastern Province Development Authority, Dr. Talal Al-Maghlouth, in the presence of a select group of investors, entrepreneurs, and several municipality officials to discuss and review a number of investment and development projects aimed at improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life in the region’s cities, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and its ambitious programs.
During the meeting, a range of development initiatives were discussed, including improving the road network, adopting modern transportation methods and systems, as well as qualitative projects in entertainment, services, and public parks, contributing to enhancing the urban landscape and supporting the aspirations of residents and visitors towards a fully integrated modern environment.
Engineer Fahd Al-Jubair emphasized that the municipality works in an integrated approach with the Eastern Province Development Authority and the private sector to accelerate the pace of development, noting that Vision 2030 has positioned private sector involvement as a fundamental pillar for sustainable development. This requires strengthening strategic partnerships and opening opportunities for investors to provide innovative solutions that support economic growth and serve the community.
He added that the projects presented during the meeting are not limited to infrastructure development but also include improving quality of life by providing attractive public spaces and investment opportunities in various sectors, contributing to creating a competitive environment attractive to investment, generating new job opportunities, and diversifying local income sources in line with the Quality of Life Program and the Infrastructure Development Program derived from Vision 2030.
He explained that the municipality and the development authority are moving swiftly to implement comprehensive strategic plans aimed at transforming the region’s cities into advanced urban centers based on sustainable foundations, providing a flexible and stimulating investment environment for the private sector. He affirmed that investors’ roles extend beyond financing to include participation in shaping and implementing projects with a direct impact on community life.
The meeting also reviewed several investment proposals submitted by investors, including projects in transportation, public facilities, parks, and smart services, with emphasis on carefully studying all ideas to ensure their economic and developmental feasibility and the possibility of implementation to serve the comprehensive development goals in the Eastern Province.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Engineer Al-Jubair praised the work of the authority and the participants’ contributions to the proposals presented, affirming that these joint efforts reflect the national direction towards enhancing public-private partnerships and achieving qualitative leaps in urban development in the region.
