Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef began an official visit to the United States on Monday, leading a high-level delegation from the industrial and mining sectors. The visit aims to strengthen bilateral economic ties and develop strategic partnerships in the industrial and mining sectors. It also seeks to explore cooperation and investment opportunities in mining and priority industries including manufacturing, automotive, aviation, medical devices, and food. The visit will continue until August 28, 2024, during which Al-Khorayef will meet senior US government officials and private sector business leaders. The focus is on enhancing cooperation in mining and strategic minerals that are witnessing increasing global demand. The United States is the Kingdom’s largest economic partner in the Middle East, with non-oil trade volume between the two countries reaching 69.7 billion Saudi Riyals in 2024.

Saudi exports to the US amounted to 20.4 billion Riyals, mainly plastics, aluminum, and chemicals, while imports from the US totaled 49.3 billion Riyals, led by equipment, machinery, vehicles, electrical devices, and pharmaceuticals.
