US President Donald Trump praised his “very good relationship” with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Monday. Before welcoming South Korean President Lee Jae-myung at the White House, Trump said he knows Kim “better than anyone, almost except his sister.” Trump added, “Now I know him well, and I get along with him. I’m not supposed to say I like him very much, because if I do, the fake news media will kill me.” Lee asked the US president to work towards peace on the Korean Peninsula. During his first term, Trump pursued an unconventional policy toward North Korea and met Kim several times, aiming to secure denuclearization in Pyongyang. He now announced the possibility of another meeting with Kim, without providing specific details. Trump said, “We will meet at some point. I look forward to it.”
