Minister of Commerce Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi visited the Ministry of Commerce branch and the Saudi Business Center in the Asir region to review the workflow and the facilitation of services provided to clients. He inspected the joint branch’s operations in the presence of Assistant Minister Abdulaziz bin Saud Al-Duhaim and several trade system leaders. Al-Qasabi honored a group of distinguished employees in business services and commercial control, urging everyone to exert all efforts to provide quality services to the business sector and consumers. Yesterday, he met with businessmen, entrepreneurs, and investors in Asir to discuss their proposals, challenges, and opportunities to develop their sectors. Dr. Al-Qasabi expressed his happiness to visit Asir and meet the business community, highlighting the unprecedented transformation thanks to Saudi Vision 2030 and its inspiring leader Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

He noted the development and growth of the business sector in the Kingdom, with commercial registrations reaching 1.7 million, including over 90,000 in Asir, representing 5.2% of total registrations. He emphasized the significant growth in limited liability companies and joint-stock companies, as well as promising sectors in Asir like logistics, shipping services, light transport, and storage facilities. E-commerce is witnessing remarkable growth, accounting for 29% of total retail payments, with over 87 million shipments registered in 2024. Legislative frameworks have been reviewed and developed, including company laws, commercial registration, consumer protection, and anti-commercial concealment measures. The National Competitiveness Center has collaborated with over 65 government entities and the private sector to implement more than 900 economic reforms and recommendations, establishing 20 branches of the Saudi Business Center in 15 cities and governorates to facilitate business initiation and practice.
