Several countries have condemned the Israeli airstrikes on the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, which resulted in the death of 20 Palestinians including 5 journalists. French President Emmanuel Macron called the attacks “unacceptable” and urged Israel to respect international law. The United Nations emphasized the need to prevent targeting hospitals, while the World Health Organization called for an immediate halt to attacks on healthcare centers in the area. Macron stressed the protection of civilians and journalists under all circumstances and condemned the siege causing starvation of the entire population as a crime that must stop immediately. British Foreign Secretary David Lammy expressed horror at the strike and called for the protection of civilians, medical staff, and journalists, as well as an immediate ceasefire. Germany expressed shock over the killing of journalists and rescue workers and demanded an investigation.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres strongly condemned the killings and called for a prompt and impartial investigation. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights highlighted the need for accountability and justice for the killing of journalists and civilians. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus condemned the repeated attacks restricting access to healthcare amid hunger in Gaza. The UNRWA Commissioner Philippe Lazzarini denounced the international inaction regarding the war in Gaza. Since October 7, 2023, Israel has conducted a genocidal campaign in Gaza involving killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring international calls and International Court of Justice orders to stop. The Israeli assault has caused over 62,686 Palestinian deaths, including many children and women, with thousands injured, missing, and displaced, and a famine that has killed 300 Palestinians including 117 children.
