Major General Mohamed Al-Ghabari, former director of the National Defense College and advisor at the Military Academy for Graduate Studies and Strategy, confirmed that what is happening in Gaza represents a “strategic deception” by Israel aimed at diverting the world’s attention from its real plan focused on the West Bank and Syria. Al-Ghabari explained during his interview on the program “Al-Hayat Al-Youm” on Al-Hayat channel with journalist Mohamed Mostafa Shurdi that Israel considers Gaza outside the scope of the “King David Map,” which is why it withdrew from Gaza in 2005. However, Israel exploits Gaza as a card to manufacture crises and occupy the international community, while it works on displacing Palestinians from the West Bank, having expelled more than 40,000 Palestinians in the past two years and completely removing four camps.

He pointed out that Israel bases its strategy on texts from the “Holy Bible” that justify slaughter and killing as means to achieve its expansionist goals. He noted that Israel has started moving in Syria by controlling the Golan Heights and Quneitra, threatening Druze areas near Damascus as a prelude to dividing Syria into two parts and reaching the Euphrates River. Al-Ghabari added that Israel uses religious and historical rhetoric to legitimize its moves, with the term “Greater Israel” appearing officially for the first time. However, he considered that Israel’s interim goal is to complete control over the West Bank before announcing any larger step. He concluded by emphasizing that what is happening requires comprehensive Arab strategic awareness because “the real danger is not only in Gaza but also in the West Bank and Syria where the actual implementation of the Zionist plan is taking place.”
