The Arab Handball Federation announced the participation of Qatar Club in the 40th Arab Championship for League and Cup Champion Clubs for men’s handball. Qatar Club joins Al Ahli Club as representatives of Qatari handball in the championship to be held in Kuwait from September 12 to 22. So far, ten teams have been announced to participate: Qatar and Al Ahli (Qatar), Kuwait, Kazma, and Al-Sulaibikhat (Kuwait), Al-Shabab Al-Riyadi, Al-Taliaa, and Al-Nawaeer (Syria), in addition to Al-Hashd from Iraq and the National Bank of Egypt. The Kuwaiti club Kuwait won the last edition held in Kuwait last year by defeating Al-Salmiya 32-23 in the final. Al-Gharafa from Qatar took third place after beating Al-Qadsia 33-26 in the third-place match. It is noted that Al-Rayyan won the 21st edition held in Sharjah in 2000, and Al-Gharafa won the 35th edition held in Amman, Jordan, in 2019.
