MP Amal Ramzy, member of the Senate, confirmed that Hamas’s approval of the Egyptian proposal for ceasefire and prisoner exchange reflects the confidence of all parties in Egypt’s pivotal role. She emphasized that Cairo acts with historical awareness and humanitarian and political responsibility to stop the Palestinian bloodshed in the Gaza Strip.

Ramzy pointed out that the Egyptian proposal is comprehensive and balanced, not limited to a 60-day military ceasefire but also includes the entry of intensive humanitarian aid through safe routes, ensuring the withdrawal of the Israeli army from some areas, and opening the door for serious negotiations under Egyptian-Qatari-American sponsorship and guarantees.

The MP added that these efforts confirm that Egypt, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, does not stop at mediation but seeks to build a sustainable political path that addresses the roots of the Palestinian crisis and provides a practical vision for the “day after the war,” preserving the rights of the Palestinian people and restoring their hope for a better future.

Ramzy stressed that the international community faces a real test to support the Egyptian initiative and pressure the Israeli government to accept it, considering it the only realistic proposal capable of stopping the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza and preventing the region from sliding into a more dangerous phase.

The Senate member confirmed that Egypt proves day by day that it is the cornerstone in protecting the Palestinian cause and acts out of national and historical responsibility that it will not abandon regardless of the challenges.
