An Arab man supported his struggling friend by lending him money to help him overcome difficult circumstances and meet his living needs, with the debt reaching 13,500 dirhams. When he demanded repayment, the debtor delayed, prompting him to file a lawsuit. The plaintiff continued to act nobly; the debtor admitted his debt in court and requested an amicable settlement and installment payments, which the creditor accepted. The civil court in Dubai obliged the debtor to pay the amount acknowledged by him. The plaintiff filed a civil lawsuit demanding the debtor to pay 13,500 dirhams plus 1,000 dirhams as compensation for damages, along with legal fees. The relationship between the two was an old friendship, and the plaintiff repeatedly lent money to cover his friend’s needs. The debtor acknowledged receipt of the amounts but failed to repay on time, leading to the lawsuit.

The court ruled that the debtor must pay the owed amount but rejected the compensation claim due to lack of evidence of a specific repayment date.
