Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Egyptian Prime Minister, received Dr. Mohammed Mustafa, the Prime Minister of the sister state of Palestine, at the government headquarters in New Alamein City to discuss and review the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories. The meeting was attended by Egyptian ministers including Foreign Affairs, Higher Education, Social Solidarity, and the Egyptian ambassador to Ramallah. From the Palestinian side, ministers of Interior, Health, Planning, Social Development, and the Palestinian ambassador to Cairo were present. Madbouly welcomed the Palestinian delegation, conveying greetings from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to President Mahmoud Abbas. He reaffirmed Egypt’s firm stance on the Palestinian cause, solidarity with the Palestinian people, and support to end the war on Gaza, emphasizing the Palestinians’ legitimate right to self-determination through an independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He strongly rejected any attempts to displace Palestinians or change the reality on the ground, including house demolitions and settlement expansions. Egypt continues to provide support through the Rafah crossing and exerts efforts to facilitate humanitarian aid. Madbouly also highlighted Egypt’s intensive diplomatic efforts in international forums and mediation with Qatar and the USA to achieve a ceasefire and sustainable aid delivery, as well as plans for a Cairo conference on early recovery and reconstruction. The Palestinian Prime Minister praised Egypt’s supportive stance, stating that future Palestinian generations will remember this position and that without Egypt’s firm opposition to displacement, the Palestinian cause would be in jeopardy. He emphasized the Arab-Islamic plan that reconstruction can occur without displacing Palestinians and called for continued Egyptian leadership despite opposing voices. The meeting also covered coordination for the reconstruction phase, including plans, funding, and implementation.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati praised the high level of coordination, especially regarding preparations for the early recovery and reconstruction conference after a ceasefire, stressing the importance of maintaining the political horizon of a two-state solution.
