Cairo, August 17 /BNA/ The Arab Republic of Egypt has reaffirmed its firm rejection of any Israeli plans aimed at displacing the Palestinian people from their historic lands in the Gaza Strip or the West Bank, under any pretexts or names, stressing that these policies constitute war crimes and ethnic cleansing that violate international law and agreements.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration stated in a statement today that it has followed with great concern the reports regarding Israeli consultations with some countries to accept the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that such plans aim to empty the Palestinian land of its owners and liquidate their just cause.
The ministry confirmed that contacts made by Cairo with the countries rumored to have accepted hosting the Palestinians showed these countries’ rejection of such arrangements, while Egypt stressed that it will not accept any form of displacement and will not be a party to it as it constitutes an unjust historical oppression with no ethical or legal justification.
