Sameh Ashour, the former head of the Bar Association, confirmed that Egypt’s defense of the Palestinian cause is essentially a defense of Egypt’s national security. He emphasized that the Egyptian and Arab stance was firm in responding to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements regarding the so-called “Greater Israel” project. Ashour explained during his meeting with journalists Mahmoud Al-Saeed and Aya Abdelrahman on the “Studio Extra” program aired on “Extra News” channel that the Zionist dream of establishing Greater Israel is not a recent idea but an old plan aiming to seize and control the entire region. He affirmed that the Israeli entity has never sought coexistence but rather expansion and consolidation through stages. He added that the Palestinian cause cannot be reduced to the Gaza Strip alone, as Israeli occupation crimes have affected all Palestinian people in various areas.
He pointed out that these aggressive policies reveal the true face of the Zionist colonial project, which poses a direct danger to the entire region.
